Le Groupe Stylex du Progrès is led by veteran businessman, Massimo Papalia, the company’s CEO. “Our company has garnered a large and loyal customer base over its 30 years of doing business in the province of Quebec. Having forged this newfound partnership with Konica Minolta and MGI, we look towards a creative, more productive future in the graphic communications industry. Thanks to this advanced technology in print servicing we are ready to expand our customer relationships and fulfill our clients’ various needs,” commented Papalia.
The MGI JETvarnish 3D Evolution is the world’s first B1+ scalable sheetfed digital enhancement press. It has been specifically designed to help digital and offset printers extend the life of their investments with a seamless upgrade path to manage a full range of production and post-press applications. End-users benefit from print and packaging work that is more engaging, differentiated and visually appealing. Other key product highlights include the following:
- Eliminates the need for films, dies, screens and make-readies for quick and easy production of foil stamping jobs from one to thousands of sheets.
- Ability to run fully personalized short, medium and long runs in a cost-efficient manner for complex packaging applications.
- Artificial Intelligence SmartScanner (AIS) provides precision accuracy by using AI to automate varnish and hot foil registration for inkjet heads over the pre-printed sheet.
- Digital foiling and an upgradeable inkjet expansion system with three substrate size options ranging from 52x120cm / 20x47” to 64x120cm / 25x47” and 75x120cm / 29x47”.
- Unique blend of digitally-embellished images, text, data and brand designs using spot varnish, 3D raised varnish and digitally embossed foil in a single pass.
Having started the financial and strategic alliance with MGI in 2014, Konica Minolta has added MGI’s output equipment including hot foil stamping and embossing jobs to its product line in response to the digitalization needs in the professional printing market. In April 2016, Konica Minolta acquired an additional 30.5% stake in MGI, bringing their total stake in the company to 40.5%.
“We’re thrilled to see the continued expansion and adoption of our MGI JETvarnish 3D Evolution system across Canada,” said Chris Dewart, President and CEO, Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada) Ltd. “With companies in Ontario, British Columbia, and now Quebec, adopting the JETvarnish 3D Evolution, more end-users than ever before will have access to products only made possible thanks to our ground-breaking technology.”
Papalia adds, “Acquisition of the most advanced, and innovative technologies in this space has been a guiding principle of ours from the outset, and we truly believe this technology is the future of the industry.”
