Creative Path Launches Abra PrintFX, a New Division Leveraging Konica Minolta’s Game-Changing Digital Finishing Technology

Mississauga, ON – September 13, 2017 – Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada) Ltd. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of Industrial and Inkjet products, is pleased to support Creative Path in their announcement of a new division called Abra PrintFX. This move lets designers gain access to today's most advanced digital tactile spot coating & variable foiling technologies. Designers can now create visually compelling, one-of-a-kind printed materials with short-run customization previously not possible via traditional methods.
Today's printers are faced with challenges of shrinking margins and ability to differentiate in a commodity-based market. From a marketing standpoint, they face the greatest challenge – how to add value to printed pieces.
According to Creative Path's founder Patrick Sinn, "We'll be utilizing the capabilities of the MGI JETvarnish to help our clients stand out with special effects. At the heart of Abra PrintFX is the MGI JETvarnish 3DS with iFoil technology. The patented Twin-Head Inkjet System of the MGI JETvarnish 3DS leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) to perfectly synchronize the varnish and hot foil inkjet head alignment on every page of print. With 200 micron precision, the system runs over 5 billion operations per second and will even adjust for defects from original offset or digital print runs and any subsequent lamination. The process is equivalent to having 300 registration cameras inspecting each square inch on the page while aligning the varnish and foil layers in real-time.
