Konica Minolta Launches Revolutionary bizhub PRO 2500P Series in Canada

Toronto, ON – November 22, 2008 – Konica Minolta Business Solutions (Canada) Ltd., a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, today announced the introduction of the bizhub PRO® 2500P series of production print systems. Boasting superior speed of up to 250 duplex pages per minute and a duty cycle of up to eight million impressions per month, the bizhub PRO 2500P series is Konica Minolta's premier production-level, black and white system – rounding out the bizhub PRO high-volume product line. The bizhub PRO 2500P series consists of three models: bizhub PRO 2500P (250 duplex ppm), bizhub PRO 200P (200 duplex ppm), and the bizhub PRO 1600P (160 duplex ppm).

Ideal for mid- to high-production environments that require high-volume black and white printing where the majority of work is duplex, the bizhub PRO 2500P family was designed with the professional printer in mind. These systems not only improve efficiencies, but also increase profitability and keep maintenance costs low. The bizhub PRO 2500P series features unique Gemini Instant Duplex technology enabling reliable printing on both sides of each duplex page in a single pass with offset-class image quality and virtually perfect registration accuracy. This series also offers the industry's highest cut sheet paper capacity of up to 13,800 sheets.

The bizhub PRO 2500P series can reliably handle heavy, coated paper stocks, even textured, thanks in great part to its use of press technology. Ideal for very high-volume applications such as corporate information sheets and news magazines, human-resources handouts, educational course materials and training documents, catalogs, business forms, and variable data printing, the series features: advanced active registration technology with automatic paper stock adjustment; air separation and vacuum technology to eliminate static and misfeeds; full-bleed ledger printing; and a variety of production-level finishing options.

Additionally, a Smart Imager controller provides network connectivity and enables full system control via an intuitive on-board touch-screen offering comprehensive job and device management to further speed workflow and boost productivity. The touch screen even includes a Job Scheduler tab which enables the operator to queue, view, and control job input and output for up to an entire eight (8) hour shift.
