Konica Minolta Introduces bizhub 181

Newest Monochrome bizhub is Designed for Ease-of-Use, Versatility and Productivity

RAMSEY, N.J. - October 3, 2007 -- Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. (Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies, today announced the release of the all-new bizhub 181 multifunctional product (MFP - print, copy, fax, and scan all in one system). A replacement for Segment 1 monochrome MFPs, the bizhub™ 181 has a brand new, user-friendly backlight LCD screen with four-line display, providing twice the display capability of its predecessor. Combined with fast 18 pages-per-minute (ppm) black and white output, the compact bizhub 181 enables small- to medium-sized office (SMB) workgroups to use the bizhub MFP concept to digitally share and distribute black and white documents, at a competitive price point.

Key Standard Features

The bizhub 181 offers the following standard features: high speed, high volume output of 18 ppm; PageScope software for network management; four-line LCD control panel with white backlighting; improved bypass tray setting selection; simple PC connectivity; compliance with new Energy Star qualifications; unified Konica Minolta Driver Screen Layout that provides more consistency across the Konica Minolta product line; a warm-up time of 15 seconds or less; and first-copy output in seven seconds or less.

Optional Faxing Capabilities

The new bizhub 181 has an optional 33.6 Kbps Super G3 FK-506 Fax Kit available. The optional fax capabilities include: transmissions in B&W up to 11" x 17"; JBIG data compression; up to 600 x 600 fax TX resolution; separate scanning, autodialing, mixed original faxing; PC faxing; memory reception; and delayed transmission.

Additional Optional Features

The bizhub 181 can be further expanded with any of the following options:

• NIC or optional Print Controller, which enables Scan-to-Email/FTP
• 128 MB Expansion Memory
• PCL6 and PCL5e printing, providing image smoothing for 600 x 600 dpi resolution that makes graphics and halftones look more professional
• DF-502 Automatic Document Feeder (50-sheet capacity) or DF-605 Reversing Automatic Document Feeder (80-sheet capacity
• 1,475-sheet maximum paper capacity. In addition to a standard 275-sheet paper tray (up to 11" x 17"), users can add up to four optional 275-sheet universal paper trays plus an optional 100-sheet manual bypass that also handles OHP transparencies or ten #10 envelopes.
