WINDSOR, Conn. – September 9, 2003 – Konica Business Technologies U.S.A., Inc. (Konica), the innovation leader in digital imaging solutions and a subsidiary of Konica Minolta Holdings, Inc., introduces DocuBreeze. A browser-based, automated file processing solution, DocuBreeze allows users to collect files from virtually any source; process the files in a variety of ways such as optical character recognition (OCR), annotating and indexing; and distribute the files to virtually any network destination via sophisticated routing rules and bar coding.
Developed by Konica's Systems Engineering Center (SEC), DocuBreeze enables companies of any size to create and implement simple and sophisticated workflow processes through a series of easy-to-manage tasks. DocuBreeze automatically retrieves documents or files from a selected source - a Konica multifunctional device (MFD), email, FTP server or Windows shares - executes scheduled tasks, and outputs the files in the selected format to Konica MFDs, email recipients or selected network locations.

"DocuBreeze provides users with a cost-effective opportunity to create sophisticated workflows. By streamlining critical business processes, companies can realize increased productivity and significant cost savings through the automation of manual tasks," said William H. Brewster Jr., vice president, marketing, Konica Business Technologies U.S.A., Inc.
Available as packages - DocuBreeze Standard Edition (SE), DocuBreeze Advanced and DocuBreeze Premier - this cost-effective and scalable scanning, processing and distribution solution meets the needs of a variety of industries, including legal and healthcare.
DocuBreeze SE allows for concurrent job processes, image processing, collection of documents or files from two Konica MFDs, and distribution to all Konica MFDs and Windows shares. In addition, DocuBreeze SE features an easy-to-use "task" scheduler for creating sophisticated processes that will streamline manual and redundant jobs.
DocuBreeze is also offered as an Advanced system, delivering the DocuBreeze SE functionality along with additional concurrent job processes, image processing with annotation, and distribution to FTP locations as well as Konica MFDs and Windows shares. DocuBreeze Advanced is ideal for legal environments with its scanning and annotation features, including "Bates stamping". The system's "Bates stamping" feature enables unique case numbers to be placed on each scanned image and then stored for later retrieval.
For businesses with complex workflow processes, DocuBreeze Premier provides for additional concurrent job processes, bar code routing, archival/retrieval, and the ability for the collection and distribution of documents or files from Konica MFDs, FTP servers and email servers, UNIX, LINUX, Windows, AS400 and mainframes.
DocuBreeze SE, DocuBreeze Advanced and DocuBreeze Premier are available through Konica's North American direct sales, authorized dealer and value-added reseller channels. The starting manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for DocuBreeze is $5,000 for 1,000 users.
