Mississauga, Ontario, January 1, 2003 – Minolta Business Equipment has two new exciting colour printer/copiers that will help businesses print, copy and scan colour documents on-demand, in-house and on-budget all at a very affordable cost. The Minolta DiALTA CF3102 and CF2002 are 31- and 20-page-per-minute colour printer/copiers designed to meet the colour reproduction needs of businesses.
"With these new colour products from Minolta, we feel that colour printing and copying is more affordable than ever for a majority of businesses," said Marie Novakis, National Marketing Support Manager of Minolta Business Equipment. "The CF3102 and CF2002 are two great solutions for the general office environment where speed and ease of use are top priorities. With these new products, we can offer our customers a colour solution that will let them affordably bring documents alive with colour."
Thanks to several technologies that operate in the background without user intervention, the CF3102 and CF2002 allow users to quickly produce high quality colour copies and prints in-house. At 31 and 20 colour pages per minute respectively, the CF3102 and CF2002 easily meet the colour document reproduction needs of busy offices. The speed is achieved by employing Minolta's unique Tandem Processing that applies all four colours in one pass. The CF3102 and CF2002 also print black and white pages at 31 ppm.
To enhance productivity and convenience, users may select from a number of options for the DiALTA CF3102 and CF2002 including a booklet making finisher with sort/staple/hole punch capabilities or a finisher with sort/staple capabilities. In addition, users may decide to add a Duplexing Document Feeder, a Paper Feed Unit (500 sheets), a Large Capacity Cassette (2,500 sheets), or a Duplex Unit.
The CF3102 and CF2002 also have a number of new features designed to boost reliability. Minolta's new Polymerized Toner utilizes an enhanced fusing system, eliminating the need for fuser oil and increasing print reliability. Serviceability on the new systems has also been dramatically improved. For example, the life of most consumables has been extended. In addition, toner replenishment is now cartridge-based; so it's easy to keep your hands clean when replacing toner. As a result of these and other changes, the CF3102 and CF2002 require approximately 20 percent of the number of preventative maintenance visits than their predecessors.
The DiALTA CF3102 and CF2002 may be configured as 31- and 20-ppm network printers, respectively, with the addition of a print controller. Minolta has two embedded print controllers that work with both the CF3102 and CF2002. The CN3102e and CN3101e print controllers each include a host of software features for faster job processing, enhanced productivity and web-enabled control capabilities.
With the addition of either print controller, the CF3102 and CF2002 can be used as network colour scanners. The scanned documents may be saved to the controller's hard drive or to an FTP server, e-mailed, or faxed via the Internet. For additional flexibility, the scanned images may be saved as TIFF, JPEG or PDF files.
The two new DiALTA CF series colour copier/printers are now available from Minolta. The suggested retail prices for the CF3102 and CF2002 are $26,400 and $20,700 respectively. The CN3102e and CN3101e print controllers have a suggested retail price of $5,200 and $4,500 respectively.
