Mississauga, Ontario, January 1, 2003 – Minolta Business Equipment has the ideal print/copy/scan solution for high-demand departmental printing/copying, central reprographic departments and print-for-pay environments. Winner of the 2003 Editor's Choice award from Better Buys for Business, Minolta's new DiALTA Di850 soars with 85 print/copy black and white pages-per-minute (ppm). The Di850 delivers consistently superior copy quality, a huge 750,000-page monthly duty cycle, plus powerful scanning, finishing and networking options.
"Businesses that demand high-volume, high quality printing and copying will achieve the ultimate in productivity with Minolta's new DiALTA Di850," said Marie Novakis, National Marketing Support Manager of Minolta Business Equipment. "There's never a document traffic jam with the Di850. Even first-time users will be up to speed in no time because the Di850's Touch Screen control panel and user-friendly menus are so easy to operate. Users can manage up to 30 jobs at once, program jobs and check on jobs status on the fly."
Rugged and built for speed, the Di850 is more than an 85 ppm printer/copier. Its superior image quality, versatile finishing options and convenient scanning options make it the centerpiece of any high-demand reprographic environment.
The Di850's special polymerized toner insures crisp, quality 600 dpi prints with the sharpest detail and smoothest halftones. A selection of image modes, including text, photo, photo and text, and increased contrast mode allow users to adjust for any type of original. And users can load from 16 lb. bond to 110 lb. index stock in sizes up to 12" x 18" to produce two-page spreads or full-bleed 11" x 17" originals.
Optional Controller Provides Printing and Scanning Capabilities Users who want to use the Di850 as a network printer or as a scanner can add the optional EFI (Electronics for Imaging) Fiery Pi8500Pro print controller.
The Pi8500Pro allows the Di850 to work as central printer for many workstations and lets users build finished documents directly from the desktop by controlling sorting, stapling, hole-punching and folding functions.
In addition, by adding the Pi8500Pro controller to the Di850 printer/copier, users can: Scan documents to E-mail for local network or Internet distribution, Scan-to-FTP for file exchange and Scan-to-HDD for file storing-at the full-rated speed of 85 ppm. Users can even choose PDF or TIFF file formats.
The optional FN-115 Multi-Stapling Finisher and the FN-7 Booklet Finisher give users a versatile array of finishing capabilities including sorting, stapling and booklet making. Users can also add a Punch Kit, Z-Fold/Punch Kit, Cover Inserter, and Trimmer unit for that extra quality finishing touch.
The new DiALTA Di850 is now available from Minolta. The suggested retail price is $60,450. The suggested retail price for the EFI Fiery Pi8500Pro Print Controller is $11,195.
